Day 19: Cabbage Soup Diet - Day 1/Fruit

As of today, I have shared my blog site URL with three friends. I am well on my way now towards keeping my personal commitment towards sharing and supporting the principles and practices of good health.

Preparing for the Week Ahead
Last night, or should I say, this morning at 3:30AM, I prepared a 1/2 batch of the Cabbage soup and properly stored them in 25 oz, airtight containers. I only made half of the recipe because I don't want to have "soggy" soup and I really didn't have room in my freezer to store the rest...

One 25 ounce container is enough for three, 1 cup servings of soup. My plan is to have only one container of soup each day for 7 days - Or I cup of soup, three times a day.

I think it's VERY IMPORTANT not to forget that I need to eat 5 small meals a day to boost my metabolism even though with this diet, one can eat unlimited volumes of this soup and it claims that "...the more you eat, the more fat you will burn!".

The plan I am advocating today is different than the one I lost 17 pounds on 17 years ago...

Here is today's meal plan:

Day One:
-Eat only fruit, all the fruit you want except banana.
-Drink unsweetened tea, black coffee, cranberry juice, and water.
-Eat as much soup as you like.

Here are the basic soup Ingredients:
6 large carrots
6 green onion
6 large peppers
6 large stalks of celery
1/2 head of lettuce
1 package Lipton Onion Soup Mix
1 - 2 containers tomatoes (diced or whole), with the juice
water to cover.

Now here is where one can be creative and personalize it to his/or own taste...

I prepared mine with Recaito - Recaito is a Goya product (It is a cilantro based seasoning.) of: sauted cilantro, green pepper, onion, and garlic in olive oil.

I also added Sundried Tomato in Olive Oil by Flora (one serving size is two tablespoons) - I didn't want to add calories to the soup so I added two healthy "pinches"...

... 3 , thinly sliced - large jalapeno peppers (fresh).
... a teaspoon of Sea Salt and a teaspoon of Crushed Red Pepper*

This yielded (5) 25 oz containers, 2 15 oz containers and...

4 additional 1 cup (or 1 ladle) servings.

Other variations include: adding sliced zucchini, green beens, shitake or porchini mushrooms (this helps give it a "meaty" texture), and garlic cloves. DO NOT ADD POTATOES, CORN, BEANS, CHICK PEAS , LIMA BEANS, or PARMESAN CHEESE to it (Although I will be giving you a wonderful "Rustic Cabbage soup Recipe" when you are off track...THINK 'GREEN'!!!!

My suggestion to you is to make sure that you store it as soon as it cools down, don't over cook it, and vary the flavor combination a little each and every day. For example, on the day that you can eat a potato, instead of having a big fat baked potato loaded w/butter, you could clean and cut up your potato and add it to your soup... spread it throughout the day.

I have posted the "Rustic Cabbage Soup Recipe" just below the recipe list on the right. If any of you come up with a winning combination, please share it with me @ lmarcobrewster@gmail.com. Friends may Facebook me their recipe. [I am working on a shoestring budget so what I have presented here is as close to the bare minimum as possible.).

This will work, You Can Count On It! ~LAMB.

Addendum: What I ate on Day One

AM - The Fat Burner Drink. (This Counts as Meal 1)
No picture of this one today because it was NASTY! My first clue should have been that the drink mixture looked like it was separating in the glass... but, like I said earlier, I drank the whole thing! I paid ALOT of money for the Whey Isolate and I don't intend to waste a single ounce of it.

Meals 2, 3, and 4 were Cabbage Soup (1 25 oz container). I added cayenne pepper and fresh lime juice to my purified water.

In the evening, for some reason, I couldn't sleep so I ate another bowl of the soup and added a whole can of green beans... I nibbled on that for a while then my anxiety subsided...

Snack (Meal 5) was a bowl of Del Monte No Sugar Added Pear Chunks with cinnamon*

Evening
1 cup of Smooth Move w/ 1 serving of Stevia

Water Consumption:
I only had 4 8oz cups of water (1 Liter) today w/ freshly squeezed lime juice.

An important note about water!
Don't force yourself to drink 8 glasses of water everyday if you "forget", let it go! Water, believe it or not, consumed in high volumes within a short time frame can kill you. It causes swelling of the brain, dysfunction of the kidneys (because they cannot process it), and depletes the body of "essential" salts in the body... it also has been know to cause hair loss and irregular periods in women , "the same effect as women suffering from anorexia."
