Day 02: De-Stress!

6:507AM - Best Friend Prayer
In my search for a morning prayer, I found this beautiful prayer for best friends. I shared it on my Twitter page which is linked to my Facebook page. For those who will read it, may it be a blessing. Get the Best Friends Prayer widget and many other great free widgets at Widgetbox!

10:14
Just spent several frustrating hours trying to 'shrink to fit' a widget into my blog. I am stopping this insanity and shifting my focus on shrinking myself to fit into my "little" black dress!.

11:11AM - 100 miles
Losing waist! 100 minutes on the treadmill. Set the bar higher today! If I can push myself to go further than 100 minutes, take a 3 - minute break to meditate, in silence... I will get back to walking 13 miles a day - everyday. For the next 40 days, I will continue to strive for 100 miles a week. I can do this! I have done this before, I will do it NOW!

1:17PM - Health Revolution
Signed the "Health Revolution Petition" Sign the Petition! and now watching the Michael Jackson Farewell Memorial on CBS. Click here to go to CBS.com! The tears are flowing down my cheeks at the mere sound of Mariah Carey singing "I'll be There" and how deeply engrained Michael Jackson was in my life... His music brings back so many childhood memories and he brought so much joy and song into my life, the life of my children and the world. His presence on this earth will be surely missed, but not likely forgotten.

2:56PM -MJ's Eulogy
Said by Brook Shields in reference to Michael Joseph Jackson in her Eulogy "...What moves me so deeply, about this little prince who is sleeping here, is his loyalty to a flower--the image of a rose that shines through his whole being like the flame of a lamp, even when he is asleep . . ." (From the Little Prince: Chapter 24)

3:49PM - Wisdom of Buddha
Something to remember: "Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared". - Buddha

9:35PM - Realist
Quote: An idealist believes the short run doesn't count. A cynic believes the long run doesn't matter. A realist believes that what is done or left undone in the short run determines the long run.~Sydney J. Harris.

I will no longer refer to myself as an "idealist". One doesn't have to "Sweat the Small Stuff" ( Carlson, Richard. Ph.D.) to be a realist, but understand the cause and effect relationships... This is something one learns in Research Methods in Psychology via the "experimental method" (Very helpful if you are a teacher, like me).... So, aside from all of the beautiful quotations and sayings, I will be delving deeper into the cause and effect relationships between my major stressors - the primary one being depression.

To achieve my personal goals, I must continue to improve my psychosocial situation/status. In other words, improve my mood and my relationships with other people. Improving one's mood alone will NOT achieve the desired result. However, I will NOT use ANY diet pills or medications unless prescribed by my physician and even then I will consider the consequences.

Everyday now, it seems that some highly touted diet drug is being pulled off the shelves due to people having serious, adverse side effects and/or dying. Case in point, Hydroxycut. I actually tried this once. I didn't complete the bottle and I didn't feel that it even really made any sense. It wasn't water weight I wanted to lose, it was actual fat. There is NO way humanly possible that anyone is going to make any significant impact on their body's physique without some seriously rigorous aerobic exercise and strength training. It's just a fact. And, for that matter, you can't just spend 15 minutes a day working out and expect to burn fat. It takes our body at least a good solid 20 - 30 minutes just to burn off the carbohydrates during an intense workout before the melt down even begins! So, Just Do It!

10:14- Herbal- Aromatherapy Pillow!
Tomorrow's goal is to be in bed by 10:00PM. I am going to go take a shower and then heat up a Herbal - Aromatherapy Pack in my microwave. (Hope THAT doesn't come back to haunt me). I bought the Herbal Heat Therapy Pillow last year at a Mall Kiosk from a young man named Shia.. I remembered his name because it was unusual to me at the time. Babynames.com says it means: Followers, Sect and it's origin is Arabic. The only other person I have heard of with this name is the actor listed on the webpage; Shia LeBeouf. Tomorrow, I will give myself a mani pedi. I deserve it!:)
